Leveraging over 20 years of relevant experience, Ed Callan has been providing executive-level marketing consulting to technology companies since October 2000.

Before starting Callan Consulting, Ed Callan spent two years as Vice President of Global Marketing at Intershop, one of the leading enterprise software vendors in the e-business platform space. There he rebranded and repositioned the company as a high-end e-commerce enterprise software vendor; launched enfinity, Intershop’s flagship product; grew annual revenues from less than $20 million to nearly $100 million; and oversaw a marketing department of over 100 professionals worldwide with an annual budget of over $30 million.

Prior to Intershop, Ed Callan was Vice President of Marketing at SBC Internet Services, the corporate entity responsible for Pacific Bell Internet, Southwestern Bell Internet and Ameritech Internet Services brands. He joined Pacific Bell Internet in 1995, and as the Senior Product Manager for its consumer dial-up Internet service, was instrumental in building the company from scratch and launching what was then the highest profile product launch in Pacific Bell history. After several promotions and Pacific Bell’s acquisition by SBC, he held responsibility for SBC’s entire consumer Internet marketing operations, and grew the business to over $60 million in annual revenues and over 300,000 subscribers.

Prior to Pacific Bell Internet, Ed spent three years as a Senior Consultant for Dataquest, one of the leading IT research and consulting firms. While at Dataquest, he managed and executed over 50 marketing consulting engagements for clients in the IT industry, most with some sort of market research focus. At the beginning of his career he was an entry-level software engineer for Silma, a Silicon Valley start-up.

In his spare time, Ed is a project faculty member at the Wharton School where he mentors teams of MBA students as part of the Wharton Global Consulting Practicum (GCP). The GCP is a cross-functional consulting organization sponsored by the school and designed to bridge the international business and academic worlds with MBA students conducting tailored engagements for fee-paying clients.

Ed Callan holds a Masters in Business Administration from Wharton, where he graduated on the Dean’s List with a major in marketing, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley, where he graduated with honors.
